Today, Bereila serves many international foodservice companies and smaller local customers in the HoReCa and fast-food industry. Our journey began back in 1950, in a completely different industry, evolving into the Bereila we are today—a fascinating and dynamic evolution that has shaped our identity.

1950 | The Early Years
Bereila was founded in 1950 by Messrs. Berghuis, Reineking, and Laanstra. These three men, each with a technical background, united their expertise to tackle a practical problem: the precise dosage of lubrication oil for every liter of fuel. Their innovative mixed lubrication devices garnered several patents and became widely used across oil companies, car and bicycle businesses, and petrol stations, where “Bereila” became synonymous with mixed lubrication devices.

1960 | Expansion into the Food industry
In the 1960s, as demand for powder-based fries equipment grew, Bereila successfully developed various types of powder fries machines, securing additional patents and establishing a solid foothold in the food processing industry.

1970 | A Shift in Strategy
The oil crisis of the 1970´s led to a significant decline in demand for mixed lubrication devices, prompting Bereila to pivot its strategy. In 1971, Bereila began specializing in sauce dispensing systems to the food industry. Alongside the original “Bereila Sauzenbar,” Bereila developed a range of sauce dispensing systems and devices tailored for restaurants and fast-food outlets. This shift positioned Bereila as a leader in the dispensing sector.

1980 | A New Approach to Sauce Dispensing
In the 1980s, Bereila introduced a groundbreaking innovation to the market: the DispoMatic series, the first automatic sauce dispensing system. This pneumatic system utilized a dispensing unit powered by compressed air from a supplied compressor, allowing sauces to be dispensed from a bucket at the push of a button. The systems were available in various models, designed for both surface mounting on counters and installation in baking walls, primarily finding their market in the Netherlands and Germany. The DispoMatic was notable for its ease of use and exceptional durability.

1990 | Innovated Dispensing Technologies
In the 1990s, the market for dispensing systems evolved rapidly, driven by a growing demand for smarter dispensing solutions. These systems not only needed to dispense sauces efficiently but also maximize yield from their packaging, all while ensuring ease of use and maintaining Bereila’s renowned quality.
During this time, Bereila developed unique Bag-in-Box systems tailored for specific customers with their own concepts. These systems allowed for sauce dispensing directly from bags, offering brand-specific production that maximized emptying and minimized waste through flexible packaging.
Additionally, new solutions were introduced for dispensing from buckets, a longstanding market standard. Bereila’s First Class Dispenser emerged as a trendsetter, featuring a powerful pump on the lid and an innovative disk system inside the bucket. This design ensured that even thick sauces like mayonnaise, mustard, and garlic sauce were nearly completely emptied, achieving maximum yield. To this day, the First Class Dispenser remains one of the most successful sauce pumps in Bereila’s product range.

2015 | Evolution in Automatic Dispensing: Electrical Dispensing Systems
By the year 2015, the pneumatic dispensing systems known as DispoMatic had been successfully on the market for more than 10 years. However, Bereila remained committed to innovation. Around 2015, the first concepts for electric dispensing systems began to take shape, leading to the introduction of the DispoElectric in 2016. These systems eliminated the need for a compressor and incorporated software that enhanced the automatic dispensing of sauces with features such as consistent portion size, dispensing speed adjustments, and preset functions.
Similar to the DispoMatic, the electric systems utilized piston technology, ensuring high quality, maximum durability, and operational reliability. This advancement also laid the groundwork for portable automatic tabletop systems, allowing for sauce dispensing without the need for built-in installations.
Today, the pneumatic DispoMatic remains available, and the concept of automatic dispensing has been further enriched with the addition of electric systems like DispoElectric and DispoJet.
